Calithumpian Weekend
Thamesford Calithumpian is a community-wide celebration that takes place annually on the May Long weekend in Thamesford, Ontario! The annual four-day event features live music, fireworks, a beer tent, a number of family-friendly events, a community parade, and a lot of fun and laughter.
“What it’s really about is community. It’s the one weekend a year we all come out of our backyard, we put everything on hold and get together,” Katie Davies
The festivities start Friday and continue strong all through the weekend. Daily events like the Turkey Toss, and Lawn More Race usually draw the crowds, while Sunday evenings fireworks display is always a highlight of the weekend. The fun finally wraps up on Monday afternoon as the local parade - including many homebuilt floats and local organizations - makes its way through town.
The Calithumpian has been a long-standing tradition of Thamesford for more than 100 years and attracts visitors from near and far.
